Aww..such sweet memories. I had a flash back when you mentioned the paper bags taped to the desks. Happy Valentines Day Amy, you are the first girl I look for in my morning paper. Every. Single. Day. <3

Very nice offering on V Day.! My dear grandpa, who in his career was an English professor at Wayne State university in Detroit, would fold a piece of paper in thirds and upon opening it there would be an original poem for me, his valentine. He also drew a heart which became more of red pencil blob as he reached his mid-90s. Such a treasure! I saved them all, through moves and divorces and re-marriages and living rustically in a geodesic dome in the NH woods . Thank you, Amy, for leading me back there to kinder times ❤️

Dad and I were the “musicals” fans and he took me to see John Raitt (and daughter Bonnie in the infancy of her career that night!) Both of us sobbed when Billy Bigelow expressed regret for his mistreatment and missed parenting (too close to home) Dad was tickled pink that we ended up in the “autograph” line when exiting. I was impressed with Raitt’s fur coat when the bus pulled up before the show as we waited in line for the doors to open! Never saw a man wear one in Ithaca before that. Great memory Amy!! 🥰

Thank you for telling about how those performances made such a difference. I grew up believing "musical theatre" were two of the greatest words in the world, and yours and other memories just reinforce that!
