I've gotta remember to ask more strangers what to do in their towns.

I LOVE lighthouses. I may have gone overboard in an earlier phase of life with lighthouse figurines lining the mantle and book shelves. My husband and I have searched out lighthouses on both coasts and great lakes. I never tire of the feeling I get standing close to one. I'm glad you've felt that feeling!❤️. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃😊

I don't think it's possible to really "go overboard" regarding lighthouses. I now have lighthouse-fever!

As always, your essays are like a lighthouse leading us all home. I’m visiting my lovely son and his delightful wife in Tacoma right now, making the slog from alarmist specialist to more alarmist specialist about some scary medical stuff I’m having. Like many lost at sea, I needed a lighthouse tonight. Thank you Amy.

What a fun story! I have climbed to the top of historic Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior twice and it never gets old.

I’m so you got to visit Portland Head and Merrill Auditorium. I’m sorry I missed the taping! How is it I read 3 daily newspapers and didn’t know Wait, Wait was coming to town. My son is a professional photographer and the Portland Head Light is the most popular location that engagement and wedding couples choose for photos.

Thank you for the little light, Amy. It seems the world is a very dark place lately, and I so appreciate your caring words. Happy Thanksgiving!

Lived in New Jersey briefly at age four and do have memories of the Atlantic Ocean and climbing slowly with my patient Dad up Barnegat Lighthouse with my little legs. I LOVE learning from “strangers” about their areas!

I love lighthouses and have visited several here on the west coast. More importantly, your commentary at times for me is a lighthouse, bringing me home when I need it most. Thank you!
