I know someone who had her car, "Carmine," stolen from near her New Jersey home. Weeks later, she was in Brooklyn on business when, lo and behold, there parked on the street was Carmine, looking no worse for wear! She called the police as to what she should do to recover her car. The advice from the police was to simply drive it away and consider it reclaimed. She called her husband to bring her the keys, never taking her eyes off the car while she waited. In the interim, no one came near the car, and she did drive it away without incident. She always said she was sure that God sent her to Brooklyn to reunite with Carmine.
I live in Hillsboro right outside Portland. Fun to read about something from my area. And yeah, after watching the video I know that song but not the band that wrote it. Nice little diddy that makes you want to groove a little. Happy to hear they won a Grammy. They deserved it! Thanks Amy!
This story made me tear up! I swear that since I first became a grandma 9 years ago, I’m a puddle of tears . Seeing Eric & Kassandra with Blondie(nostalgic since it came from my teen years ), and Blondie returning to them. . . perfect ending ❤️
I love that there’s no mention of the wheelchair. I shared this my brother Anthony, who is also in a wheelchair. Anthony may even know of Eric. He collects music written and or performed by people with disabilities. Anthony was once interviewed for a story by BBC radio that included an interview with Stevie Wonder.
My heart lit up when I saw the wheelchair in the photos. My brother holds a very special place in my heart.
Honestly, Paula -- I felt exactly the same way. Neither Susan nor I made any mention of Eric's wheelchair and (at least on my part) -- that was intentional.
I hope your brother can connect with Eric (last name is Howk), who really does have quite a story -- aside from the Blondie adventure.
Love this story! People helping people 💗

Thanks for reading -- I loved stumbling across this "lost and found" story with a happy ending.

Thanks for making my Monday morning.

Hi Amy, my brother does know who Eric is and never realized that he is in a wheelchair. I think he plans to follow up with him
It is so nice that normalizing is becoming normal. It just feels right.
Thanks!
