From Railey Savage; what a wonderful sentence "Even though managing my mental health is extremely challenging, I have tried to cook and bake and eat the food with intention, and love; I no longer season with disappointment."

We love leftovers and usually cook a big bird. I find the dangerous relatives on Thanksgiving are the ones who insist they will clean up the kitchen. Then they commandeer the leftovers before I can even get in there. There are some benefits to smaller gatherings. I actually noticed at the time that clean-up was less stressful this year, and I appreciated that you wrote about this topic!

I also somehow managed to miss the surprisingly entitled leftover scrounger discussion. Enjoyed reading about it here. And I am in love with the Methodist Church Supper Leftover System. Pure genius.

I keep small amounts of leftovers in Ball glass canning jars sealed with a Ball heavy plastic lid, not the metal lids that come with the jars. Empty jars are easily washed in the dishwasher. For larger amounts of leftovers, I use the Tupperware collection I've owned for more than fifty years. Leftovers are great, especially after Thanksgiving!

Just love your analysis of the various leftover people groups! I mean, people who approach leftovers in various ways. Funny and true. Now that we no longer host, we’re in the take our own containers group. No risk then of not getting enough pie or going home with insufficiently packaged food.

Leftovers are the best part of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners! A bowl full of dressing (with raisins!), chopped turkey, and gravy cannot be beat. And, if you can eat it 4 days in a row - BONUS!! :-) Sharing, shmaring. Am I greedy with my leftover turkey dinners? No, but I always hope there's tons left just for me after everyone's gone.

I STILL have leftovers (and they’re still good as of noon today!)
