I've been meaning to comment for a while- I live in Ithaca so I've always thought of you as a neighbor. Anyway, thanks for the many years of wisdom and entertainment. You've helped me grow and understand myself and the people around me better. I'll miss your advice column but wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Me too - I read Amy and Carolyn with the first coffee of my very early day. It was a pleasure to stumbled up her column a few years back. I read her in The Washington Post.

Eric's advice is fine, but he does not have your "zing." Wish you were still published in my daily paper. I hope to receive your newsletter in my email instead. Thank you for your years of service.

Ever since I read your first column announcing your next chapter, I have experienced many different emotions. Having retired 10 years ago and finding my own new paths in this chapter of my life, I could completely relate to your statements. It’s an exciting time for you and I applaud your courage to move on to new adventures. That said, I will so miss your daily column. I have learned so much from you and wanted to personally say, thank you! Your words over the years have helped me in so many ways. As a subscriber, I know I will be able to still enjoy your work, albeit differently. Best wishes in all that lies ahead!! ……And in the words of an incredibly talented advice columnist, ONWARD! 😊

Thank you, Amy, for all your true to life, common sense words of advice and caring. Even to the most ludicrous letters (aka the "yellow bride"), you "told it like it is". Enjoy your new path and the old memories you will make. God Bless!

Amy, I have enjoyed your column and gained so much from reading it. I especially loved the kind words you wrote some time ago about your experience in Buffalo NY, where you accompanied your dad on the final leg of his life’s journey. My husband and I have lived in Wisconsin for over fifty years, but we both grew up in Buffalo and share fond memories. It truly is the City of Good Neighbors --people are kind, generous and down-to-earth. We now live in Middleton WI, the Good Neighbor City; we have come full-circle. I am sure you will succeed in whatever path you choose in the future. We will be watching!
