What a rich column today, Amy. Rolling hills, lush green fields, spring trees and bushes flowering and - the Wreath Toss! Absolutely love the wreath toss. Then, the sobering Dust Bowl...Black Sunday...fellow Americans who barely knew what had hit them. The highs and lows of life and Mother Nature. You always give us something(s) to think about and ponder. Thank you.
Amy, another lovely post. The descriptions have me longing for upstate New York, well Kingston, really not very upstate. I just received The Antidote. It was mentioned on Willa Cather's Center website. First Larry McMurtry's memoir Walter Benjamin at the Dairy Queen. Thank you Amy. From Karen
I’m ‘addicted’ to Amy’s writing. For many years, it was her Ask Amy column. Just last night, I began reading her memoir, “Strangers Tend To Tell Me Things.” (It’s about time, right?) How lucky we are to have these Substack newsletters to savor, with their photos, videos and links and, of course, the great writing.
Haha! Love the wreath toss sound effects! My sister lives in Corning, and my cousin lives in Horseheads, so I hear a lot about the dreary weather up there! Just refinishing our porch and deck, so relatable!
It's a beautiful porch with an amazing view! I hope that the weather warms up very soon so you can spend time of that cozy porch. It's always a pleasure to see Molly! It's clear that she takes her supervisor role very seriously!
Snow predicted for the western mountains of Maine this week where my hubby is def headed and I might (?) to work on our friend’s camp….Meanwhile won’t get out of the 40’s here in CT on Thursday….Brrrr….
It has definitely been a strange spring! Your porch looks so welcoming. I also have a routine for cleaning our screened porch and hope to get to that before this holiday weekend.

Molly is a ridiculously cute dog! The porch looks so inviting. Here’s hoping for a beautiful summer.
Thank you for sharing this.

So good you've made me want to get on my back patio -- as soon as the tornado warnings and thunderstorms move out of here (It's getting old!).
