To me the perfect movie (from your neck of the woods) is Hitchcock’s The Trouble With Harry. Beautiful fall scenery and an excellent story and acting. Oh- and dead body.
I just listened to an extensive audio history of Hitchcock and the tales from the set in New Hampshire were the stuff nightmares are made of. Everything that could go wrong ... did!
Best Halloween costume ever: my best friend & I went as a pinochle. I was Jack of diamonds and she was the queen of spades. Yesterday I told my grandsons this and was treated to an unending chorus of "Pee-knuckle? You were a PEE-knuckle?!" accompanied by gales of laughter. Ah, yes, how the young do appreciate our stories!
There was a documentary I watched once, which showed how Halloween evolved from a horrible prank night to a family friendly candy gathering event. At one point, the narrator cited youths taking wagons apart and reconstructing the wagons on barn roofs, as the epitome of hooliganism. Uh oh, my Grandfather, my Uncle Roy, and their cohorts used to do that!
❤️🥰🤗😙
And thank you autocorrect …she is not RICK!! She ROCKS!!

Love you, Amy and your newsletters! My husband and I are also avid listeners to Wait Wait Don't tell me and always look forward to when you are on :)

Childhood memories are the BEST! I, too, like to be scared........a little bit.
“Reader’s if you like what we are doing…”
I think that’s one too many apostrophes 😉
Thank you for reading to the end
Love Halloween! I was always a Gypsy dressed in as much of my mother’s jewelry that I could put on!
Those were the days...
Loving it
Thank you, Nora!
