I loved your wedding dress so much I tried one on JUST LIKE IT for my “second wedding” but it did NOT look beautiful on me as yours did on you!

When I was 10, my best friend got navy blue go go boots and I wanted some soooo bad. We only got to buy new shoes once a year at the start of the school year. Everything else was hand me down from my cousins. I moved from NYC 7 years ago to join my now second husband and I’ve purged most of my city clothes but can’t bring myself to get rid of my beloved black Tory Burch knee high riding boots. I FINALY got something like my gf’s navy go go boots and dammit, they will continue to sit proudly in my closet until they swing back into fashion in another 15 years! Until then, every time I look at them they bring back fond memories of my life in the Big City. Just like your pretty gray sweater ❤️

My “baby” sister asked me if I’d gotten the latest newsletter and now I see why - like all women I have a few stand-out clothing memories (and at 71 I still own a ridiculous number of decades-old garments) but this story is HER story. And at about age 9, she got the go-go boots!

What a joy to read. Thank you.

Love this! I also remember your love of long scarves... which gave us a scare one time skiing as you tried to get off the chair lift!

Oh, yes, to all of this. I once read that getting dressed for a party is more fun than the party. Spoke to me. No thanks to buying the portrait; we have three of my husband's ancestors on our wall.
