I downloaded that LoseIt app. Haven't even opened it yet and I'm being shown plus-size clothing ads on Google. So. Lose the weight, or buy new clothes? hmmm.

I do enjoy your writing.

I enjoy your writing but I’m not always into the additional musing. Sometimes it takes me away from the focus of your writing and checking myself against it. I like it on Saturday because it works well for me but honestly, I would read it any day you published it. I know it takes you time to write but I would do something like $5. a month or $50. a year. Thank you for requesting feedback. Love the photos!😷

I really enjoy your writing, especially your two books...I'd like to see you give them a mention in your newsletter. My husband loved them too.

Today's topic was right on, as I just started a serious effort to lose the "Covid 15". (More like 7 or 8, but still!) It's SO hard! But in your photo you appear very (too?) slender. I can just hear your various aunts: "Amy, dear, you're wasting away!" Fat-shaming is a thing...is slender-shaming?

As for paying for an online newsletter, I don't generally do that (sorry) although I do make the occasional donation, á la The Guardian. I like the idea of paying what you want/can afford.

I pay $5 per month for other online news from individuals, and so should others. You pay for streaming and youtube and Amy's talent, advice, and compassion, plus added authors, is worth $5, just like a latte

Absolutely love your writing style and topics. Relatable, educational, and entertaining. First thing I read in our local paper. I enjoy this platform also. Reading a fresh take on your experiences in life sent to my email. This one, especially hits home. Can you read my mind? Weight gain in our age group? Walking? Walking everyday, combined with prayer (even though I taught in a Catholic school for 36 years, I barely took the time to pray) Now that I retired (just before the school year started) walking and praying everyday has helped in keeping my mind and body in check.

Too tired to read anything more tonight, but couldn’t resist your newsletter. I feel better. Thank you.

Love the newsletter!

Like the newsletter a lot, always open and devour it. Don't care what day of the week I get it. I like it because I get to know you a little better, which is a good thing because I faithfully read your column in the Denver Post. I usually agree with your answer, though not 100% of the time. But agree or disagree, I marvel at your ability to put forth your advice in a succinct and non-inflammatory way. Though sometimes, I must admit, I wish you would be a little more "Judge Judy," like, "Girl, drop that idiot or you are in for a lifetime of hurt!" But you're doing you. As to paying for the newsletter, I would probably pass on that, just because of the sheer volume of stuff that pours in, so I don't usually sign up for something I must pay for. Just too much internet overload, a very common sentiment I am sure. I look forward to the continued delight of hearing from you!

Kudos great advice column, I read you every day!

Agree with all the compliments, I’m so taken with your enthusiasm, curiosity and energy, you breathe exuberance and no detail escapes your gaze.

Your writing is a lightly filtered stream of consciousness scribble, makes me snicker and it’s the exact opposite of your carefully measured terse advice in your daily columns.

I read you “Ask Amy” and “Dear Carolyn” in “The Seattle Times” every week day.

First the question, then I phrase my advice then read yours, I’m always dead wrong, once I was exactly correct about a decade ago when I actually knew the family of a spouse affected by early stage dementia.

So some of you and “Yentas” were born to guide and give advice to others, always amazes me.

BTW, I wouldn’t pay to subscribe to your newsletter, albeit fabulous though I would make a onetime $5 contribution.

That said, I subscribe to the NYT and Seattle Times digital and then Seattle Times paper edition and finally NYT Sunday in paper (all five pounds of it).

Love your stuff, Kudos,

Eugenio

I love the newsletter, and I think getting it Fridays is perfect. I can read it Friday if I want, or have it ready to read later in the weekend, when I have more free time. It’s nice. BTW, paying a fee would be tough for me, so I’m glad that us early folks won’t have to.

I think I'm a bit older than you are, Amy, so I've been dealing with the young-but-olds for a while. This newsletter is not just entertainment, but also affirmation of our normalness in this not-so-normal world. Thank you for sharing your life.

This is the first issue I've read. If there have been others, they slipped by me. I like it!

I like the newsletter and weekends are best to have time to read it. I also see the benefits of walking for health and mental health. I live in AZ so walking indoors on the treadmill is essential. I reserve certain TV shows as enticement to walk, I only watch those on the treadmill. For me reaching menopause seems to have added the pounds but I'm struggling with how to cut down on food as tracking every calorie makes me unhappy and anxious about eating so I'm just trying to eat less than my husband...
