It’s harvest time.
In our small and struggling vineyard, as the grapes grow and fatten, the number of hazards they face also grows. Our rows of merlot grapes are no match for whirling flocks of starlings, turkeys, and the local herds of deer that crisscross the fields, munching happily as they work their way along the rows.
Growers try a number of things…
