When was the last time you wrote a letter?
This summer I’ve been working on writing more handcrafted missives (having kids at camp helps), but I never write as many as I want to — and I receive very few.
[I really like postcards, and I adjust my collection often.]
Lordy, here’s a treat — reposted here from the WONDERFUL newsletter “Letters of Note.” (Do yourself a favor and subscribe to this daily selection of historic letters.)
This absolutely darling, charming and witty letter — linked below — was written by Keith Richards to his beloved “Aunt Patty” in 1962; it is published (along with an audio recording of the letter, voiced by Jude Law) on the occasion of Mick Jagger’s
… 80TH BIRTHDAY.
READ this delightful letter from Keith Richards to his Aunt expressing his youthful excitement at meeting MICK JAGGER.
Love to you all on this sweltering day … made more cool by sharing it with Keith and Mick.

There’s a wonderful piece about Mick Jagger in today’s Guardian. I will always be a fan girl of his.
My husband and I both enjoyed this one!!
Since you enjoy postcards, I wondered if you have heard of the Postcrossing organization. I started with them during the pandemic. It allows people to connect with each other by sending a 1 time postcard across the world from home to home. The website is free although, I do contribute to them.
A bit of love and peace through the postal services.
Since the war in the Ukraine, I have been amazed and delighted that two of my postcards have made it to homes in the Ukraine even with the war raging.
It is fun in the mail box.
Wishing you cooler days.
